Bithi Pramanik
Orini Combined school Sponsors a World Vision child. Every term we hold a fundraiser to help raise money to support Bithi. This is a great way for sutudents to develop awareness of other cultures and appreciate how fortunate they are.
We have just recently had Leah from World Vision come to school to share some photos and information about Bithi.
It was very educational and the students enojoyed seeing where all their hard earned money is going.
Our first fundraiser for 2009 for Bithi was a Wheels Day at school on Thursday 1st March. Students brought, bikes, skateboards and roller blades to school. We fundraised $109.00 which goes towards Bithi's sponsership.
Our Term Two funraiser for Bithi was an Electronics day. Students all had time in the Electronics Room playing with Computers, Playstations, Nintendos and the interactive whiteboard. Students were allowed to bring cellphones, personal diaries, MP3 players and any other eletronic equipment for the day. It was a fun day that raised $265 for Bithi.
Our next fundraiser will be 23rd September and is a Fear Factor Day. This is promised to be another exciting day of fun.
